Staircases

Staircases may be anywhere except in the north-east and the centre of the place, viz., Brahmasthana.
However as much as possible prefer them in the south, west or southwest.

The space beneath the staircase should not be occupied by any one.

The staircase can be placed in the south, west and south-west. Avoid staircases in the north-east as they can cause problems with your finance.

The step should begin either from the north or east. The turning of the staircase has to be clockwise only. The last step should be towards south or west.

If it is an internal staircase avoid the staircase just opposite the entrance. Similarly for outside staircases avoid crossing the main door.

The space beneath the staircase should not be occupid by any one. It can be used to function like a lumbar or storage room.

Avoid placing the staircase in the centre of the house (in the Brahmasthana).
If the staircases in the north-west or south-east are imperative, have the staircase as light as possible. However, the beginning step and the ending step, and the rotation of the stairs should be as suggested above.
